Yes, it is March Madness but also it is the NFL Offseason and free agency begins tomorrow. Here are some final thoughts on where the most highly touted QB’s will end up this offseason.
Drew Brees: Yes rumblings have certainly occurred out of the Brees camp but I have no doubt he will return in New Orleans.
Kirk Cousins: The Vikings, Minnesota will indeed let all three free agent QB’s walk and sign the prize of 2018 Kirk Cousins. Expect them to take a backup in the third or fourth round of the draft.
Sam Bradford: Bradford ends up in Miami. The Dolphins have never been high on Tannehill especially the Adam Gase driven Dolphins. This draft gives them a chance to re stock. They trade Tannehill to Arizona for a second or third rounder and take a QB at 11. Bradford serves as a nice bridge guy as well if the Dolphins wanted to wait on a QB and take one with the high second round pick they would most likely get for Tannehill.
Teddy Bridgewater: Teddy ends up with the Patriots. It is clear the pats need a succession plan for Brady and I just don’t know how much pop Bridgewater will get with all the QBs in this years class. He sounds like he wants to be a starter, I don’t think he will be for the foreseeable future. Note I considered matching him with the Bills but I just don’t see them wanting to go with a player who is as similar to Tyrod Taylor as it gets coming off an ACL tear.
Case Keenum: Keenum, now a better developed signal calling option ends up landing a one-year deal with the Broncos to be a bridge QB. Meanwhile the Broncos also take a QB in the first or second round of the draft.
AJ McCaaron: New York Jets. Yes the Jets will take a QB in the draft but McCaaron is a solid back up.
