We are in the dead spot of summer. That is a total lie. The world cup is happening, baseball is in full swing. However, I know very little about those two things. So let’s think about the three huge questions to ask ourselves this week, in sports and life.
What is the appeal of the nightclub for an NFL player? The majority of NFL offseason mishaps go on in and around night clubs. Why do players not have the sense to stay out of those sticky situations though? Honestly, I know I sound like old man yelling at cloud but there are better things to do than night clubbing. Have a party at your mansion, or at a park no need to go to the night club.
Is there such a thing as to many takes? The answer is yes. I am on twitter a lot to promote this blog and myself and honestly, I haven’t put out that many takes this summer. Why? Because talking about football from May to August is absoloutely pointless. Oh my god Andrew Luck is throwing a high school football let’s all lose our collective shit about it. Pardon the harsh language but in the sports society, we live in today not everything requires a take. Sometimes you just acknowledge that news happened, report it, and then let it go. I don’t need a think piece about Johnny Manziel’s CFL career and how it impacts NFL scouting in mid June. It just isn’t at all necessary.
Should I be depressed that the NFL will probably never have a world-wide competition? Honestly, I am. I have been doing a series of interviews with a bunch of great people about the growth of international football. The project will be out Wednesday go check it out then Endzone Podcast. Anyways the big conclusion to it is that most likely we will never be able to have something like the world cup for American Football which is sad. I wish it was as global as soccer. I wish we as American’s were less entangled in our own bubble. I wish the world could just get along, a fever dream from a delusional teenager, until next week.
