The Pac 12 regular season has wrapped. The last week of the Pac 12 heavily featured some great running back performances discussed in this weeks Pac 12 report. Also a hot seat ranking for every team from 1-5, 1 your probably safe, 5 you better be looking for your next job. This will also be the pen ultimate Pac 12 report. So one more after bowl season. Then after signing day a report then we start over again in August. So also included is an early grade for 2019! Enjoy!
1. Washington (5): The Huskies win the Pac 12 North and roll over Washington State. Myles Gaskin had a terrific day and finishes the year as one of the Pac 12’s best running backs. He’ll have to face a much tougher Utah run defense than he did in week 3 though. Hot seat score:0, 2019 early grade: B
2. Utah (2): After struggling in the first half against BYU the Utes took off. Jason Shelley had another great day, avoiding turnovers and using his legs affectively picking up 60 yards on the ground. Hot Seat Score: 0, 2019 early grade: B-
3. Washington State (1): A rough way to end the season. However, this was a team with low aspirations that really over preformed. A great year overall for the Cougars. Hot seat score: 1. 2019 early grade: B+
4. Oregon (3): A great day for Oregon as Travis Dye and CJ Verdell combined for over 400 yards on the ground. Justin Herbert has had an incredibly slow second half. My opinion is that he would really benefit from one more year in college. Hot seat score: 3, 2019 early grade: B-
5. Stanford (4): The weeks best QB performance came from KJ Costello. 344 yards and 5 touchdowns. Stanford collapsed mid-season but if this team can replace Bryce Love, who was overall a disappointment this year, they have a real shot at contending next year. Hot seat score: 2, 2019 early grade: B+
6. Arizona State (6): For a team that was slated to be a laughing stock this team was very good this year. It will be interesting to see how herm Edwards recruits this offseason and builds this program more in his image. Hot seat score: 1, 2019 early grade: B
7. Cal (7): Beat down on a hapless Colorado team. At some point this team will have to strive for better than mediocrity. The seat is heating up. Hot seat score:4, 2019 early grade: B-
8. USC (9): Kept it close verse Notre Dame. However, heres a bold take, fire Clay Helton bring in Kliff Kingsbury to take a dynamic offense lead by the talented Chase Daniels to another worldly level and contend for a national championship. Hot seat score: 5, 2019 early grade: A
9. UCLA (8): Wilton Speights balled down the stretch. Let’s see what Chip does this off season. UCLA is headed in the right direction. Hot seat score: 2, 2019 early grade: B+
10. Arizona (10): Hot seat score: 3, 2019 early grade: B-
11. Oregon State (11): Hot seat score: 4, 2019 early grade: C-
12. Colorado (12): Coach fired. 2019 early grade: C+
