Jets
Biggest question: Will Corey Davis and Garrett Wilson be able to step up at wide receiver? On paper, it looks great, but last year Corey Davis was hampered by an abdominal injury throughout and wasn’t a consistent contributor to the offense. Garrett Wilson is a hyped incoming wideout, but his value in the NFL is yet to be determined. Elijah Moore only contributed last year in stints where Joe Flacco was throwing him the ball, that’s not a positive trend. Obviously, the biggest question that remains is; is Zach Wilson the guy? Only time will tell, he showed small, fleeting flashes in year one, we just don’t know what he is yet. The Jets will have to figure that out soon though.
Patriots
Biggest question: Can Matthew Judon produce for a full year? Judon disappeared down the stretch last year and it really hurt an extremely thin Pats defense. The Patriots will once again be thin at pass rusher, they need Judon to live up to his huge contract and to produce at a high level. Another huge question in the secondary is, can an extremely inexperienced group keep the Patriots in games within the division with the high-powered Bills and Dolphins. Letting JC Jackson walk was an extremely questionable move, will it pay off? Can Belichick replace at the most important level of NFL defense in the modern era?
Dolphins
Biggest question: Will Tua progress? This is an undeniably talented roster, the secondary looks like one of the most slept on groups in the league with two all-pro candidates at corner. The offense adds the dynamic Tyreek Hill, to the already budding Jaylen Waddle, and the offensive line doesn’t look like a total mess, this should be a playoff team. Tua gives me pause though, he’s shown the capability to be an excellent mid-range threat with moments of upside, sort of a Teddy Bridgewater light. In this AFC though you need so much more than that.
Bills
Biggest question: Whose stopping this team? Because on paper this looks like it may be one of the top three rosters in the entire NFL. They add James Cook to add an element in the running game that they have not had outside of Josh Allen. Gabriel Davis is supposedly up to 227 pounds, with his 6-2 frame already that type of mass makes you an X receiver, and beside Stefon Diggs it appears the Bills now have two high-quality weapons outside, not to mention Jamison Crowder and Isaiah McKenzie in the slot. This is one of the deepest offensive rosters in the NFL. The only question I have about the Bills; is Kaiir Elam ready to step into a starting role at the corner from day one? If he is the Bills filled the spot that ultimately hurt them last year when Tre White went down with an injury. The Bills have virtually no flaws.
