Eagles 12-5
Hard not to love the Eagles. They looked like they found a number one wideout in Devonta Smith, so they went out and got a bonafide all-star to put aside him in AJ Brown. They largely fixed their linebacking problem in free agency and then drafted potentially the best linebacker in the draft in Nakobe Dean. The Eagles are just doing something so right, and even if Jalen Hurts is just good this team has the upside to be a title contender. I won’t get crazy and say they reach the teens in wins but 12-5 seems like the likely scenario.
Cowboys 8-9
The Cowboys always do this, one up year and then one down year. This is a down year. The team has major question marks all over the offense including most importantly the offensive line. The defense has Micah Parsons but the secondary is still a largely TBD product that will rely heavily on great turnover luck. Trevon Diggs needs to get a lot better in coverage if the Dallas secondary wants to be viewed as anything more than that. Mike McCarthy just doesn’t inspire a lot of confidence. So here we are, this is a year of disappointment in Jerrah world.
Giants 6-11
I have once again been sucked into the Giants optimism machine. I actually had the Giants at eight wins but upon a second thought took away two of those wins. Six wins just feels about right. I just can’t trick my brain into believing in Daniel Jones. And let me tell you I trick my brain into the Giants almost every single year. This year, again the weapons look tantalizing, I’ve been talked into the fact that this is going to be a huge year for Saqoun Barkley, I think Kadarius Toney is a special player waiting for Brian Daboll to unleash him and Wan’Dale Robinson seems to be a pre season hype favorite out of Giants camp. Not to mention Kenny Golladay and the bevy of wideouts the Giants have with high promise but high injury probability as well. The Giants will be competitive this year, the franchise is on the right track it feels like for the first time in several years.
Commanders 3-14
Ron Rivera’s big gamble was Carson Wentz, what? That move more than any this off-season feels the most panicked and miscalculated. Not to mention the thing Rivera is known for, the defense has not lived up to expectations over his tenure in Washington. The Commanders have decent offensive weapons and promising young talent at wide receiver but that will only take you so far. This is a team that is about to be in massive rebuild mode.
