Avs, brutal. Threw away the game 7, can’t get past Dallas, probably not winning another cup with this group. The defense is thin and Cale was bad so the defense was bad. Oh well, try again next year.

 

NHL Notes

• The Blues showed such fight, as did the Wild, the central remains the most brutally hard division in hockey. If either of these teams returns next year it will be a bit of a miracle. Both need to load up this off season, feels like they’re a piece away from verging into the top 3 and the Avalanche are slipping.
• The Kings are just cursed and really need to blow stuff up this summer, kind of the same spot as the Avalanche, just cannot get past Edmonton.
• The Habs and Sens were nice stories but they need to get a lot better defensively this summer if they want a chance to truly compete in the East.

Round 2 Predictions

Panthers over Leafs in 7: This is the best team in the NHL in the Florida Panthers. This team should be the favorite to repeat and are my pick to win it all this year after round 1. Do not sleep on them, they are here to absolutely bully anyone that stands in there way, I give the Leafs 7 because I gained a bit of respect for them in round one but no way they get past the cats.

Caps over Canes in 6: Logan Thompson sneaky is probably the best goalie in the playoffs and he’s about to absolutely shut down a Canes team that wasn’t really test in round 1. Carolina is the fraud squad.

Stars over Jets in 4: Helly is in Hell still. No way Mikko and crew don’t absolutely light these guys up in round 2. Dallas is my pick to get to the cup from the west.

Oilers over Knights: Don’t know why I am doing this. Really don’t. Vegas is just so much better but damn I am not going to pick against McDavid in this one, feels like they have more to give.
