On a day in which almost everyone lost in college basketball how do you rank teams? The answer is you look at the fact everyone sucks and judge accordingly. Oklahoma was my toughest case, I kept them in (barely) at 25 simply because I could not find a worthy replacement. You could make an argument for Bama but they have one to many bad losses. Xavier is out of the top 5 after struggling against Creighton. It isn’t a massive drop though, just down to five. Rhode Island, Wichita State, and UNC all make dramatic rises to the middle of the pack after the middle of the pack loses. Without further ado, the post Saturday top 25.

1.       Villanova (2) : Nova dominated Butler, Divincezno scored a career high 28 points. Nova still looks like the best team in the country.

2.       Virginia (1): A loss to Virginia Tech in OT isn’t a great loss. However as I stated in Fridays article, it will take a lot more than one loss to move Nova and Virginia out of the top two.

3.       Michigan State (5): Big win over Purdue moves this team into Purdue’s long time spot.

4.       Purdue (4): Both of Purdue’s BIG Ten losses have come off buzzer beaters. This team would need to lose to an unranked team to fall out of the top 5.

5.       Cincinnati (6): Xavier’s struggles against Creighton in a one point win moves a dominant Cincinnati team into the top 5.

6.       Xavier (3)

7.       Ohio State (8)

8.       Texas Tech (7)

9.       Gonzaga (17)

10.   Auburn (9)

11.   Duke (15)

12.   Arizona (18)

13.   Saint Mary’s (12)

14.   UNC (24)

15.   Clemson (17)

16.   Wichita State (25)

17.   Rhode Island (21)

18.   Tennessee (10)

19.   West Virginia (14)

20.   Kansas (13)

21.   Arizona State (NR)

22.   Nevada (NR)

23.   TCU (NR)

24.   Middle Tennessee State (NR)

25.   Oklahoma (16)

Dropped out of the rankings: Boise State, Miami, Seton Hall, and Butler.
