The Bears Do Not View Justin Fields As A Long Term Solution, Their Actions Tell Us That.

Traveling, so no night before today as I await a flight at the gate. I just saw something this morning and I had to get a take out there, my new policy is; tweet less, blog more.

Here is what sent me over the edge.

A quote from new Bears GM Ryan Poles, it reads: “We are all in on Justin. I believe in Justin. Our coaches believe in Justin. We are going to set him up to succeed.”

Are you kidding me? Like seriously, how little do you think of your fans? Do you think they just haven’t followed your off-season? Well let me break it down for non Bears fans. This is what the Bears have done this off season.

Did practically nothing to address one of the worst offensive lines in the league last year, signed a depth tackle in free agency and drafted a guard in the sixth round.

Signed Byron Pringle and Eqaunimeous Saint Brown, both players with little to no production history as number two options. Both were fourth option targets on their prior teams and now Pringle is facing legal troubles. Saint Brown had 98 yards last year, 98.

Signed David Moore, a deep threat in Seattle who disappeared when Russell Wilson was not on the field and drafted Velus Jones in the third round, a specialist out of Tennessee.

Stop lying to your fans, you did nothing to help Justin Fields this off season. You bought in unproven commodities in a season full of known commodities being available at wideout.

Your number one target is Darnell Mooney, that’s fine, he’s proven but outside of him you did nothing to help your extremely promising QB. Let’s just get a head start on a series I plan to do on the blog in late May/June, roster notebook, where I look over ever NFL teams’ roster and go over who they will be starting especially at skill positions.

Bears

QB: Justin Fields

RB: David Montgomery

RB: Khalil Herbert

WR: Darnell Mooney

WR: Byron Pringle

WR: David Moore

TE: Cole Kmet

That stacks up as arguably the weakest wide out core in the entirety of the NFL. The Bears certainly do not believe in Justin Fields, if they did they would have been more aggressive with surrounding the young signal caller with pass catching talent.

I love Fields, I think he can be a great QB, but if you look at the Bears roster, the vision is clear. This is meant to be a rebuilding year, to the point they will likely have a top-five draft pick, and with that pick leverage it for a new QB, coming out in next years class.

The one thing I can’t stand in the NFL is organizations telling bold-faced lies to their fans when people tell you what they are they tell you through actions, the Bear’s actions tell us they do not see Justin Fields as a long term answer, believe them.
