What we Learned: Josh Rosen has the skill set but not the tools around him and the pressures on for Houston

  • Josh Rosen has the skill set of an NFL Qb. Rosen’s Footwork looked impeccable and his timing was perfect. His problem is the team around him has major problems especially at wide receiver. Two drops on touchdown chances hurt Rosen’s stats in a big way in UCLA’s 31-24 loss to Texas A and M.
  • All the pressure is on Houston. After beating third ranked Oklahoma I would be shocked if the Cougars aren’t a top 5 team in the AP top 25 poll next week. But after Oklahoma there is a lack of ranked teams on Houston’s schedule. If they win out the rest of their schedule there in the playoffs but if there’s even one slip up now its over, the pressures on.
  • If Alabama Loses tonight there’s a brand new favorite to win the championship. It’s the buck eyes after a rocky start with a pick six J.T. Barret broke a school record for touchdowns in a game with 6 touchdowns. Ezekiel Elliot’s replacement, Mike Weber ran over bowling green for 136 yards. This team looks like there ready to go on a run to rival Bama for the future football dynasty.

Other notes from week 1

  • Leonard Fournette ran for 138 yards but lacked any touchdowns as Wisconsin upsets 5 ranked LSU.
  • Chris Evans impressed at back for Michigan with 112 yards and 2 touchdowns on only 8 carries as the routed Hawaii.
  • Washington routed Rutgers behind Jake Browning’s 3 touchdown passes as Washington gets ready to challenge for the pac 12 title this season.
