2015 year in review and Awards

2015 was incredible for sports. It started with a bang as Seattle came back to beat Green Bay in the NFC championship. This stamped Russel Wilson as an elite quarterback but he was no match for the greatest Qb of all time arguably Tom Brady as the patriots won the Super Bowl. It was Malcom Butler though who won the game with two seconds left Russel Wilson dropped back looked to his right threw and Butler stepped in front of the ball and sealed the championship on one of the most controversial Super Bowl plays of all time. In March Michigan state was the underdog story of the NCAA tournament. However perhaps the upset of the tournament was Wisconsin beating Undefeated Kentucky in the final four. In April Duke beat Wisconsin in the final game where Jahill Okafor went off to win the national championship. May there was no underdog just an American underdog or underhorse should I say, American pharaoh. The first horse to win the Triple Crown since secretariat blew threw all three races.   In June the Blackhawks of the NHL established a dynasty with a Stanley cup win over the talented Tampa Bay Lightning.  Meanwhile Golden State was starting to create a dynasty themselves beating the Cavaliers who everyone expected to win be Lebron James powered and all. Fast forward to December these guys are 25-1 and perhaps one of the greatest teams of all time. Ok back to summer and soccer the USWNT won the world cup that is impressive. Abby Wambach Hope Solo and Carli Lloyd have all become household names around the country. Plus who doesn’t love a chip from midfield that goes past a tripping Korean goal tender #thingstimhowardcantsave Korean soccer. So here we go to September the NFL starts strong and so do The Patriots Panthers Packers. Who didn’t  Andrew Luck Peyton Manning Marshawn Lynch the Seattle Seahawks. That’s a theme in sports this year it’s the year of the unexpected that’s why a third string qb won the NCAA football championship in the first installment of the final four. And this year the Final Four looks to be better than ever with all kinds of action set up for the last day of 2015 more on that later though. October came with a Royal Sweep in the world series as Kansas city took the penant. Well that’s all I have so here are some awards.
