3 things we learned from NFL week 16: The NFL is heartbreak, and college football picks

  1. This league is unfair and full of heartbreak: We lost so much in 2016. What hurt the most though? Saturday’s losses of Marcus Mariota and Dereck Carr derailed the Titans and Raiders seasons. Two young and exciting teams one of which had a shot to knock of New England in the playoffs. Its just sad that this had to happen this late in the year, oh what could have been Oakland.
  2. Tom Brady has one real competitor in the AFC: Well you think its Pittsburgh, ITS NOT!!! Kansas City has the most balanced team in the NFL. The defense is the best in the AFC and the offense is not nearly as bad as people make it out to be. Tyreek Hill is a freak it seems like every time he gets the ball in his hands it’s a 20 yard play. Travis Kelce, the Chiefs answer to Gronk, is the exact same way. If Alex Smith can start using the option more than perhaps just perhaps this team can pull off a stunner in Foxburough.
  3. The NFC playoffs are wide open: While only 3 real contenders exist in the AFC the NFC is wide open in terms of a playoff race. The team that has a chance to shock the NFC is the hottest team in the NFL in the past four weeks. In sports my father has taught me one very important thing, “its not necessarily the best team in the playoffs its who comes in the hottest.” That team has been the Green Bay Packers couldn’t you just see a scenario where Green Bay Beats the weak link 6th seed stuns Seattle or Dallas and ends up in the NFC championship game? More on that next week when the official Playoff predictions come out. Until then enjoy the new year’s holiday and some college football.
  4. While were on that subject my College football playoff prediction is: Final game, Alabama vs Ohio state, winner……… Alabama DUH!!! No one’s going to beat those impenetrable trenches Nick Saban has assembled.
