Several months ago I gave my MLS playoff predictions. Let’s look back at those predictions and make some new ones for the MLS cup playoffs. Where I was horribly wrong: Vancouver at second in the west, Colorado and Salt Lake miss the playoffs, and Portland makes it into the playoffs. In the east Basically everything.

So now on to the playoff predictions:

La Galaxy 2 RSL 1: The Galaxy have number 10 back from retirement and Landon Donovan simply wants to prove one thing, that he can win another ring. RSL also have major problems, the top 2, a rapidly aging squad and the fact this team can’t score goals.

Seattle Sounders 1 Sporting KC 0: these two teams are playoff veterans as well but it’s time to usher in the new Jordan Morris era in Seattle with a big playoff win.

Philadelphia Union 2 Toronto Fc 0: The union have a very nice mix of veteran players and young guns anchoring their attack and Andre Blake has been hands down the best goal keeper in MLS.

Montreal 4 Dc united 2: Didier Drogba after been fined and suspended briefly has it out to prove doubters wrong and Harry Shipp is looking for a playoff performance to break out as an MLS super star.

Second Round

Seattle Sounders 3 Fc Dallas 1 aggregate: Seattle continues to give fits to FC Dallas who still can’t find a way to win in these playoffs.

La Galaxy 4 Colorado 1 aggregate: Colorado isn’t ready to shine in the Playoffs quite yet. Tim Howard proved he can’t carry a team to a championship (see 2014 us world cup).

New York Red Bulls 4 Philadelphia Union 2 Aggregate: The Red Bulls are ready to make a post season push. The Union will give the Red Bulls a scare though.

New York City FC 7 Montreal 6 PK’s: High scoring drama in the second leg in Yankee stadium.

East Final

New York Red Bulls 5 NYCFC 3

La 3 Seattle 2 Pks

MLS CUP FINAL

Red Bulls 3 La 2: Finally New York brings home the cup. All this could be wrong though you never know well talk about it more when the Conference Semis come along. Thanks for reading.
