A Canadian cup Portland and Sporting KC return La and Nyr fall in fall? In the MLS playoffs expect the unexpected.

Well its that time of year again the leaves are falling Christmas rush season is coming up and you haven’t gained to much weight yet. And in the world of sports exciting things are happening. The world series, college football, The NFL, The NBA, MLS, and the NHL. Wait what backup MLS? Well yes theres soccer in north America. They have playoffs? Ya. There way confusing though right? Not anymore the playoff system has been revamped to be more user friendly lets say now it’s the same as the NFL. 6 teams in each conference 4 wild card games the second and third round games have to legs and are won on aggregate goal count. The finals are held in one game and that’s it pretty simple right? The system may have been streamlined but the teams have not so now we go and look at this wild thing called the MLS playoffs and if you need an adrenaline watch turn on some soccer this things gonna get crazy.

The picks

Seattle v La: La have created a soccer dynasty in southern California. Beckham and Donovan some past names that stand out. But this years team has a studded the most studded by far roster in MLS. Keane, Gerrard, Dos santos, Zardes. Looking at the other side the team that can never quite make it over the hump Seattle they have won 2 major awards in MLS the past two years but have failed to get the most important one The MLS cup they’ve NEVER won it in CLUB HISTORY. La however comes into the playoffs not looking to hot and with out very good defense and goal tending so guess what upset 1 happens on night 1 Seattle advances driven by captain America Clint Dempsey. Final: 2-1 in extra time Seattle.

Dc vs Ne: Well the revs are the buffalo bills of the MLS four years in a row to the finals without a cup and then last year after missing the playoffs for many years losing to La 2-1. Dc united however is the feel good story of the league two years ago only 4 wins 4 last year a supporters shield contender and a loss in the second round this year back to the playoffs. And this would be an easy pick because dc has way more firepower up front and Bill Hamid one of the leauges best as there goalie. Unfortunately Ne always powers in the playoffs so it’s a tough decision but im betting on dc to win and advance in a high scoring affair 4-3 Final.

Toronto vs Mtl: Oh the battle of Ontario good on ice (well if you’re a habs fan soory leafs) better on the pitch these two teams are full of super stars Giovinco, Drogba, Bradley, Piatti, Findley, Romero. And these teams are relatives rookies to the playoffs Toronto’s first time EVER in the playoffs. So an exciting match to come but as much as I have Drogba fever golden boot winner and probably league MVP Sebastian Giovinco is going to shine in this game. And really this is Canadas year three Canadian teams it’s a great time for soccer in Canada. That aside the pick drumroll please well actually this one doesn’t need a drumroll because Toronto steam rolls Montreal a small moral victory for leafs fans Final 4-1.

Portland Vs Kansas city: Two teams that are back in the playoffs in serious fashion. And if you have to chose a game to watch its this one. A great Portland defense playing a great KC offense.  Portland’s attack is lackluster but Kc has a spotty defense but a good goalie. That’s about all to be said about this one up in the air but even though defense wins championships im picking the offense in the closest game possible. 1-0 Kc in Pks

But for the record here are my quick picks and awards for the rest of the playoffs

Tor v Nyr 6-4 Toronto

Van v Kc 3-2 Van

Fcd v Sea  4-2 Fcd

Dc v Clb 7-6 Dc

Conference finals

Dc v Toronto: Dc and Toronto a conference final made in heaven high scoring and intense the best series of the playoffs and it ends in pks 8-7 Dc.

Fcd v Van Fabian Castillo is all the rage in dallas but that’s it done no more with injurys plaguing them so Vancouver Roll name a sushi roll already it tastes like victory 4-1 Vancouver.

So the final Dc vs Vancouver to of the most loveable coaches in MLS and its going to be good so tune in and watch USA V CANADA and finally after so many years of being robbed in hockey USA wins. DC 3-2 in extra time MLS CHAMPS!!!!!
