An Open Letter to the NFL.

Dear NFL

A tweet cannot express my disappointment in you. So instead I have decided to craft this open letter regarding the Tyreek Hill situation. First thing comes first we need to lay out the facts. Give you a fair shake. The situation is as follows.

Earlier this offseason Tryeek Hill was accused of breaking his sons arm. The case was dropped by Kansas City authorities about a week later. The NFL said nothing about the situation and let the legal side play out. Fast forward to draft night. Disturbing audio is released of Hill violently threatening his wife and child. Authorities in Kansas city reopen investigation NFL and Chiefs take back seat while the law does its job. The investigation ends no charges are pressed and the NFL starts its own investigation. Weeks later a report comes out that Hill will be suspended four weeks. This morning the NFL comes out and says no suspension will be handed out.

WHAT? Literally what in the world? How does this happen? Here is a man that probably broke his son’s arm, threatened his wife and child, and has been accused of domestic violence before, and been convicted in college and there is no suspension for him. Literally what the hell? I get the NFL isn’t the Bastian of moral right and wrong in our world but players who threaten there wife and child, beat there wife and child and who have been convicted of this type of thing before need to be punished. I am sorry, that’s not a freaking hot take there is just no other way around it.

I get that people would have said a four game suspension was to short but honestly how does this make the league look better? They are literally not following there own rules that they have put in place. Domestic violence is a 4-6 game suspension. The NFL blatantly ignored there own rule.

Is it because Hill is such a star? If so that’s not a good precedent to set. Just because you are a star player does not mean you should be able to get away with whatever you want.

How do you over look this kind of blunder? How can I forgive the NFL? The answer is simple. I have sold my soul to the league in some rotten deal with the devil. I am tied to it for all eternity, no matter what, I simply do not have the will power to quit it. I am weak. Though in my weakness I can still acknowledge that I hate the leagues handling of this situation. I certainly have no choice but to root against the Kansas City Chiefs, which is a damn shame because they are going to be a fun team next year.

How at this point can anyone in good conscious be a Chiefs fan? I am a huge believer in second chances. We learn and grow through them. We evolve into better people. Tyreek Hill has had three chances though. Three strikes he’s out. He is a terrible human being there is no way around it at this point. While he is an incredibly talented athlete he is impossible to root for. Your not supposed to root for injuries in sports but with this guy, I don’t know. I would love to root for him to get jail time if we’re being honest. I would love nothing more than for him to disappear from the public eye.

I don’t think it’s terrible to say these things. Hill is a monster. There is really no other way around it. Frankly, I would tell that to him to his face. He doesn’t deserve the privileges that come with the life he lives. He doesn’t deserve to be so damn talented. So from here on out I put him in an asterisk category. Tyreek Hill, talented wideout. *Trash human being.
