Divisional Round Picks and Preview: The Weekend Preview

The divisional round of the NFL is upon us. Below are my picks and predictions for the weekend.

Chiefs 35 Jaguars 30

Trevor Lawrence arrives but doesn’t quite have the complete game Patrick Mahomes does as the Jags fall.

Expect Kadarius Toney and Travis Kelce to have big games. The Jags are on the right track but ultimately will fall short of a Chiefs team destined for another AFC Championship.

Eagles 27 Giants 24

Daniel Jones is having a good run of form. Jalen Hurts has had an MVP season though and anyone picking against the Eagles outright is a bit crazy in my mind.

If the Giants cannot stop the run this game is over. The Eagles bullied the G-men on the ground a week ago and if they do so again they’ll make quick work of the Giants. Dexter Lawrence however has played at an elite level over the past month, he can provide a solid base for the Giant’s defense.

I’m unsold on Daniel Jones as a long term option, he’s been great this last month of the season but if he puts up another great day against an elite Eagles defense the Giants will owe Danny dimes a lot of money this off season.

Bengals 44 Bills 41

Both these teams have problems on the offensive line, however, once in a while sometimes great QB’s just take over and provide something special.

I believe that’s how this game goes down. Josh Allen vs Joe Burrow, a battle to determine the hierarchy of the AFC and the future. I like Allen to have a bigger statistical day but the Bengals just have it. Clutch gene, whatever you want to call it the Bengals just know how to win and they get a huge one over the Bills to set up a rematch with the Chiefs.

Niners 30 Cowboys 23

The Brock Purdy story is incredible. A seventh round draft pick and Mr. Irrelevent making something out of nothing. Paired with an offensive genius in head coach Kyle Shannahan the Niners are en route to another deep playoff run.

Then of course you have the matter of the Cowboys, a team that chokes and chokes often. Dak had his best playoff game ever last week, he will need a similar performance if the Cowboys hope to survive the overall best roster in football that is the Niners.
