MLS Power Rankings: RSL Is A Middle Of The Road Team In Need Of Consistency.

1. NYCFC
2. Sporting Kansas City
3. Atlanta United
4. LAFC
5. Orlando City SC
Despite a loss 3-0 to Portland on Sunday NYCFC is still no doubt the best team in the league. Sporting Kansas City started inconsistent but has dominated opponents as of late including there 6-0 win this weekend. Johnny Russell has been a nice surprise for KC with 5 goals thus far this season. LAFC continues to be the feel good story of MLS contending early, long season but LAFC are on the right path.
6. New England Revolution
7. LA Galaxy
8. FC Dallas
9. Columbus Crew SC
10. New York Redbulls
The Revolution are a nice story to start this season but as the schedule gets into the double header portion the question is if the Revs will be able to keep this pace up. The Zlatan era started with a bang and has been bang or bust since but LA has out preformed FC Dallas and the Crew as of late. The Redbulls lack defense but certainly don’t lack goal scoring once again led by the explosive Bradley Wright Phillips.
11. Houston Dynamo
12. Real Salt Lake
13. Vancouver Whitecaps FC
14. Portland Timbers
15. Colorado Rapids
This is the group of unremarkable western conference teams. All could be contenders but there are massive if’s. If RSL and Colorado can stay consistent, If Vancouver can find consistent goaltending, if Houston can play defense, and if Portland can keep the ball out of there net.
16. Minnesota United FC
17. Chicago Fire
18. Montreal Impact
19. San Jose Earth Qaukes
20. Toronto FC
21. Philadelphia Union
22. DC United
23. Seattle Sounders FC
