- Columbus Blue Jackets: 15 straight wins is impressive. I have a feeling this team will fall back to earth hard afterwards though. People forget they were one of the worst teams in the league at the end of November.
- Pittsburgh Penguins: The whole offense is clicking. Marc Andre Fluery, is back to being an elite goalie and it’s always nice to have Matt Murray in the corner. I wouldn’t be shocked if he was traded though.
- New York Rangers: The offense has slowed a bit but their defense keeps them a top three team.
- Minnesota Wild: 12 straight wins and a Devan Dubnyk player of the week propel the wild to four. Wait for the mid late February, but, I think this team might finally be the one to beat the Hawks in the playoffs.
- Montreal Canadiens: Carey Price Carries this team end of story. Come at me NHL.com writers, this isn’t an offensive power house team without Price this team is not making the playoffs.
- Chicago Blackhawks: A great team yes. They were taken down a peg in the winter classic though.
- San Jose Sharks: These guys are playing with vengeance.
- Philadelphia Flyers: A great few months for the flyers catapult them to the top ten. This team made the playoffs barely last year this year it might be a bit safer spot.
- Saint Louis Blues: Vladamir Taresanko and David Perron make a nice offensive pairing. The Blues may not challenge for the division but they have a lot to look forward to in march.
- Anaheim Ducks: Only a little ahead of the Oilers, just for consistency sake.
- Edmonton Oilers: Young fast and fun, but wildly inconsistent. This team feels like a bubble team to me.
- Ottawa Senators
- Toronto Maple Leafs
- Boston Bruins
- Tampa Bay Lightning
- Los Angeles Kings
- Calgary Flames
- Carolina Hurricanes
- New Jersey Devils
- Nashville Predators
- Florida Panthers
- Dallas Stars
- Winnipeg Jets
- Vancouver Canucks
- New York Islanders
- Buffalo Sabers
- Detroit Red Wings: The last year in the Joe has been there most disappointing.
- Arizona Coyotes: Mike Smith is trapped this team needs a complete rebuild.
- Colorado Avalanche: It’s time for a total rebuild, starting with getting rid of Semyon Varlomov, Matt Murray anyone?
