NHL Power Rankings: Capitols on rise Montreal nearly falls out of top ten

  1. Washington Capitols: Speed Kills. This team is laser focused maybe this is the year the Caps finally get it done in the race for lord Stanley’s cup.
  2. Minnesota Wild: The wild have stayed consistent in there winning ways through the season. If they can get over the hump that is the Blackhawks for them they have a real shot at the cup. At the deadline finding one more depth defender might be good.
  3. Chicago Blackhawks: Consistently fantastic.
  4. Columbus Blue Jackets: Sergei Bobrovsky played fantastic in the all-star game and does the same for the Jackets. Nick Foligno and this attack need one more big time scorer to make a playoff and presidents push.
  5. Pittsburgh Penguins: Get Fleury out get a top 4 defenseman in.
  6. New York Rangers: The Rangers badly need a scoring defenseman. They’re d core has only scored 28 goals this year get them one more weapon on the blue line and watch the blues shirts go.
  7. San Jose Sharks: Good enough for playoffs but just seem gassed.
  8. Anaheim Ducks: John Gibson is on the prowl to drag this team through the playoffs.
  9. Edmonton Oilers: The Consistency of the Oilers continues to improve. The major question now is can this team make a playoff run? With a lack of veterans it will be hard to do but if Cam Talbot rises to the task the Oilers could make a splash in the post season.
  10. Montreal Canadiens: I mean I’ve said it from the beginning this team is only as good as Carey Price. The Canadiens need a goal scorer that’s who you go after at the deadline. Also you just fired your coach be thankful your still on this list.
