NHL(full) Power Rankings Black Friday edition

With 20 games out of the way we are one fourth of the way through the NHL season. So lets take a look at where the teams stack up and in honor of black let’s go shopping.

Fire Sale

New York Rangers: The best team in the NHL, leading the NHL in goals per game at 3.90, and bolstered in the back by Hendricks Lundquivsts 9 wins.

Chicago Black Hawks:  5th in the league in point percentage in no small part due to the fantastic play of Marian Hossa, Johnathan Toews, Artemi  Panerin, and Patrick Kane. This team just doesn’t decline.

Pittsburgh Penguins: Coach Mike Sullivan just knows how to groom young talent from the AHL and bring it up to the majors. Jake Guentzel looks like he could be a great depth player and Bryan Rust looks like he has developed into a consistent NHL player. Not to Mention all the star power on this team. The one concern, lack of goal tending depth while Matt Murray is out with a concussion.

Montreal Canadians: Too low? I don’t think so. Without Carey Price in goal this team is completely different than when he is in goal. They need to stop using Price as Crutch if they want to go anywhere. That said, Carey Price is a beast who gives this team a huge boost.

Tampa Bay Lightning: Ben Bishop and Andres Vaselevisky are the best goaltending tandem in the league right now. Steven Stamkos serious blood injuries should raise some major concerns for this team though.

Washington Capitals: Does this team have what it takes to win a cup? No.  The Capitals are certainly not a team you want to on any night of the regular season though.  The depth needs to get scoring though TJ Oshie and Alex Ovechkin can only carry you for so long.

Edmonton Oilers: After a rough 5 game patch this team has shown the resiliency needed in this league by bouncing back to win the last three games. Though Connor Mcdavid steals the headlines Cam Talbots incredible goaltending is what is keeping this team winning. The Defense is one of the worst in the league.

Ottowa Senators: A lack of Craig Anderson may be this teams kryptonite. Best of luck to he and his wife in their fight against throat cancer.

Saint Louis Blues: Consistently good in the regular season, not much more to say than that.

Columbus Blue Jacket: Cleveland continues its sports renaissance with young defense man Zach Werenski has given this team a spark.

Nashville Predators: Biggest disappointment of the season. PK Subban hasn’t fit in well with this team and Pekka Rinne can’t carry a team forever.

Dallas Stars

Florida Panthers

Carolina Hurricanes

Toronto Maple Leafs: this is a really impressive spot for the leafs actually. They could sneak into the playoffs if they play lights out.

Winnipeg Jets

Detroit Red Wings

Clearance\ Why would you buy these teams?

Buffalo Sabers: No Jack Eichel makes Buffalo a dull team.

Calgary Flames

Colorado Avalanche

Vancouver Canucks: shows us we can’t learn anything from the first 6 games of the season.

Arizona Coyotes

New York Islanders: I cannot believe how far this team has fallen sad. Make the Islanders great again.
