Skyline Lady Eagles dominate, yet again, against Hillcrest

The Skyline lady Eagles basketball team wiped the floor with the Hill Crest Huskies Friday night 85 to 58. Skylines victory comes on the night of the pink game which was a huge success raising money for cancer research at the Hunstman Cancer institute. Though Skyline at one point only led by 10 points in the third quarter this game was simply not competitive.

Skyline allowed no 3 point shots from the huskies shutting them down outside the arc. Skyline did deal with foul trouble inside the paint however. Several unnecessary fouls in the third quarter are what cut the dominate Skyline lead to ten. The Eagles seemed flat footed in the third unable to keep up  with the fast break of the Huskies. However they quickly regained their stamina and finished the game strong.

Notably Madison Grange Junior guard dropped 28 points in the game. Though she didn’t shoot extremely well from the field Grange dominated at the free throw line, shooting 8 for 9. Barrett Jessop did have an impressive evening from the field however putting up 10 points.

The Lady Eagles are having an incredibly good season undefeated thus far in Region. Yet another weak showing from a student section leaves even I disappointed. These young women work extremely hard and are dominating there division the least we can do as fans is show up and support them at their games. The fact a team undefeated in regiona and noticeably better than the men’s team has hardly any attendance is mind boggling. This team is fun to watch. Their style of play is fast and flashy. This team has noticeable grit as well with the likes of Cameron Mooney and Kiana Eskolson.

These games have everything fast breaks, flashy three point plays, contention, a palpable sense of tension between the two teams( so much so at some points it felt like someone was about to throw a punch), and fantastic displays of athleticism. More importantly the Lady Eagles are winning games. So if you can watch the Men’s team roll over to arch rival Olympus then you should absolutely be at the games these ladies are dominating.

Madison Grange Drains a 3 on a night where she puts 28 points on the board in Skylines disseminating of Hillcrest
