TDOIA: Post Saturday Rankings, A New Number One.

After a big weekend in college basketball we regroup and release my Top 25. See you back here on Friday! Enjoy.

1. Virginia (3): Nova is a great team but to be able to hold Duke to under 70 points is an impressive feat. Virginia is the best team in the nation.
2. Villanova (1): Nova survives a scare at Marquette. You can see this team misses the depth Phil Booth provided though. That doesn’t stop the fact that Jalen Brunson is one of the best players in the nation and showed it again today.31 points and 5 rebounds and Nova is still cruising.

3. Purdue (2): Purdue barely survived due to a massive performance by center Isaac Haas who had 26 points.
4. Michigan State (5): A rough week for the Spartans ends with a win over Maryland. For a team dealing with a lot of outside pressures the Spartans are playing very good basketball right now. We’ll see how long that lasts with the pressure baring down on Tom Izzo who was physically shaken in his post-game presser.
5. Duke (4): Losing to the best team in the country doesn’t knock you down that much. Duke will have to figure out how to beat great defensive teams though.
