The John Deere Rider: The Story Of A Backlash, Not Yet Started and Yet Not Over.

This is the sick story of politics in America. If you come here to escape, avert your eyes. It will make you nocuous. Fair warning.

The John Deere rider is a dying breed in America but if the American political system isn’t careful there will be a backlash. There have always been backlashes, they pop up throughout American history. The revolution was a backlash, the election of Andrew Jackson was a backlash, the Civil War was a backlash, and most recently the election of Donald Trump to the presidency as a backlash. There is another one coming though, as we are in the midst of a great American backlash right now.

The backlash of the John Deere rider is coming. Currently we in America are in the midst of the liberal backlash. Me too movements and Black Lives Matter ring through our psyche constantly, the age of political correctness is setting in. It is not setting in everywhere though. In the rural country sides of America there exists the John Deere rider. A generation of 45-90-year-old white men who own land and believe that they have been cast aside from society. Which in reality, they haven’t been. The current president is a John Deere rider. A man who lives in the belief that the old way was the best way, and the new roads we are going down will surely ruin life for the typical American man.

The town of Trenton New Jersey is full of John Deere riders. They have been left behind, in a time of steel mills and sweat. There towns are rusted covered in a cloud of spray tan rust that will not leave because America has passed it by. America simply has no more use for Trenton New Jersey. It is a bog town where dreams go to die in the rusty sky. Trenton will not be saved by the president, there knight in shining armor. So the backlash will come from Trenton, because the words “white devil” have been engraved in there head.

This is where I must interject. This is not an opinion piece, it is an observation piece. I consider myself left leaning, but I consider myself more an observer and a bit of a historian. With that in mind we get to the nitty gritty. The John Deere rider has been told he is the devil. Never directly, but they feel that way. They feel locked in a constant struggle with “the man” even though the current man is there man. They see the news they see the media report and they see attacks. They see the words “don’t you know you are white and you have male genitalia, you are the devil, this is the new America” The John Deere rider sees these words and becomes defensive. The current liberal movement in America does not encourage discussion, it encourages submission. You are with them or against them, there are no easy ways out, no compromise, no discussion, just pure brute force, if you do not agree with us then you are not with us and we hate you. Yes, despite what you might think at this point in American history American’s hate each other. You could argue they always have but now it seems to be at a fuller brew than ever.

The problem with either you are with us or against us as a mentality is this. You make a lot of enemies, a lot of people start to see you as an enemy. A lot of people start forgetting politics are just politics and start judging moral character. That is a problem, that is where backlash begins. You can hope this generation dies off quietly, out wait them, but they will spread there thoughts down to the next generation. The frightening part though is that we are already in a backlash, when you get one backlash over another you create friction, and friction create sparks, sparks create fire. The country will burn. That is not the solution. There is no simple solution, but a backlash is coming.

As I see America on this journey through it I begin to see something very clear. We are no longer the same. We as American’s no longer share a common goal. The American dream is undefined, and perhaps forever lost in this day and age. The elections of 2018 may not be as left leaning as we are lead to believe. There is a great and growing portion of America who sees the liberal agenda marginalizing them. They are, they have been put in a box, if you voted for Trump you are morally bad, that is simply untrue.

Americans are lost they tie politics with morals. That is a dangerous game. Politics are a sick thing, done in back alleys, politics separate the nation, leave Trenton behind, and leave the John Deere riders wishing for the olden days. Which were simpler according to them. Although they were not, and that is what they call the fallacy of the innocent past.
