Three Story lines of the early NBA offseason

  1. Paul George: It is highly unlikely George would stay in Indiana the Pacer’s organization is just not competitive enough in the east for George to stick around. So where will he go? All signs point toward the Laker’s but the Celtics and perhaps even the Thunder seem like intriguing spots for George to land. Most likely though George will go to Los Angeles where he can be the sole all-star although Lavar and Lonzo Ball might have something to say about that though.
  2. Carmelo Anthony: Melos relationship with the Knicks is growing increasingly toxic. Its time for a change of scenery for Anthony. Where that will be is yet to be seen but the most tantalizing spots would have to be Cleveland and Boston. If Melo went to Cleveland it would completely ruin the Eastern conference more than it already is but the Cavs would be title favorites. If he went to Boston it would provide IT with another all-star and finally put Boston over the hump. The dark horse. Milwaukee, if the Bucks signed Carmelo they would be a legitimate contender to the Cavs. Also, Giannis to Melo would be a super sexy combo.
  3. Chris Paul: Paul is at the end of his contract and it is clear the Clippers big 3 aren’t winning a ring together. That being said if Paul stayed it wouldn’t be a shocker. He has the personality and love for the Clippers to stay there until he retires. However, Paul could go to the Spurs which would be one of the best NBA fits of all time. Paul’s passive nature would fit in perfectly with the Spurs team style of ball. The dark horse for Paul though is the Raptors. With Lowry gone they need a new point guard and Demar Derozan has just gotten to the point of a do it all super star. If he had Paul supplying him that back court could be one of the best in the East.
