3 things we learned from week 11: Jeff Fisher is going for some “7-9 Bull shit”

  1. Its more what we didn’t learn actually: What is a catch? I mean honestly you would think after fifty years one of the biggest sporting league’s in America would know how to judge on of its most fundamental plays. There has to be enough film and metrics to determine what a catch is. I would write about this a lot more but if the NFL’s own writers can’t bring attention to this issue than how am I going to? Jordy Nelson however got a touchdown after holding the ball for around 1.5 seconds and got a TD while ODBJ did the same thing and the pass was called incomplete. I mean, really, you can’t even determine what a god da- I digress.
  2. Jeff Fisher, is going to go 7-9 maybe worse: Ok this is a real quote from a real NFL coach, to his team, on a television program (hard knocks). Pardon the language of a grizzled Jeff Fisher, “I’m not going fucking 7-9”. Well actually Mr. Fisher you are going f ing 7-9. Your defense stopped the dolphins for 3 fourths of their drives forcing 11 punts but on the last two you gave up two touchdowns to Mr. Clutch, Ryan Tanehil, to lose the game 14-10l. As you so eloquently put it Jeff, that sounds like some 7-9 bs to me.
  3. Not anyone can be a kicker in the NFL apparently: The age old quip of, I could be a kicker, no longer exists. Apparently it’s really hard to kick a ball 25 yards through the upright to get one point. 11 missed extra points set a new record for missed extra points in a day, the record was 10. Mad respect Kickers.
