The drama currently surrounding the Cleveland Cavaliers right now is the story in the NBA. The lack luster month of January for the Cavs prompted the king to speak out and ask his organization for a playmaker. This is of course a major problem because they just gained a playmaker in Kyle Korver and have other playmakers in Kevin Love and Kyrie Irving. The Cavs aren’t willing to give those guys up so how do the acquire a Carmelo Anthony? The answer is they don’t and here’s why James made the biggest mistake of his career thus far off the court.
I am a fan of Lebron James I can appreciate someone who lives and breathes their craft, who is a master like James. What I can’t appreciate is when a guy puts his need for more rings above his relationship with his organization not to mention his team mates. James can’t go out into the public and beg for his organization to make moves it just doesn’t make him look good. If you want a playmaker keep it inside your own building keep it quiet talk it over with your GM and then see what the organization does. If they don’t make a concerted effort to look for a playmaker, then call them out. The problem with putting it out in public is then speculation begins and you get these Kevin Love for Carmelo Anthony trade rumors. That’s another thing Lebron have thicker skin don’t call out the guy that writes a piece on a potential Love Anthony switch, you put the idea in our heads, as sportswriter’s that’s their job to speculate.
Maybe if you want a playmaker Lebron you step up. In practice in pregame make this an intense environment where your great playmakers you already have know what’s expected of them. Hold Irving and Love to a higher standard, accept the fact that the loss of JR Smith is going to sting until playoff time and move on. Focus on march the regular season from here on out shouldn’t matter for the Cavs it should just be a warm-up, for chasing the next one.
