Pioneer Pigskin is an idea I came up with about five months ago. I watch a lot of college football in the state of Utah for my job. Yet, I really don’t have a place to talk about college football in the state of Utah. In comes Pioneer Pigskin.

The name comes from the Pioneering spirit that helped find Utah, that and I am addicted to alliteration.
On Pioneer Pigskin each week we will talk about Utah, BYU, and Utah State football. Recapping the games from the weekend past and looking ahead to what comes next for each of the teams in the state.

Utah
Utah is expected to be a top team in the nation this year. The roster is loaded and the expectations from fans are sky high. Cameron Rising is expected to be one of the top players in college football this season and Utah is currently ranked seventh in the Jensen top 15.

BYU
BYU meanwhile returns most of there starters on offense and defense and play some of the most exciting games in the country this year with an absolutely loaded schedule.
BYU's schedule features 4 preseason Top-20 teams:

Utah State
Utah State meanwhile will have one of the most sought after coaches in college football after taking a team expected to win only three games last season to a conference title and bowl victory.
Anderson returns his starting QB in Logan Bonner and brings in flashy wide receiving transfers like former crimson tide player Xavier Williams.
