The Viewing Guide: Huge Showdowns In Italy Highlight The Weekend

The viewing guide is the definitive look in at soccer on the continent of Europe from casual European football fan Eric Jensen. The viewing guide establishes the best and most intriguing games in European football each week. Let’s enter the viewing guide.

England Viewing Guide

Crystal Palace @ Machester City 8:00 a.m. MT Agust 27

After playing arguably the game of the season thus far and getting a 3-3 draw at Newcastle City return home for a matchup that should see them back in goal-scoring form. Palace play an open style of attacking football and that will ensure this game is a truly back and forth affair. Erling Halland is off to a quick start for City with 3 goals and several assists this far just three games into the season.

United @ Southhampton 5:30 a.m. August 27

Are United back? That is the question rumbling around Europe this week as the red devils easily handled Liverpool at Old Trafford on Monday night.

The test to whether Erik Ten Hag has this squad back on the right track though will be how the side handles a mid-table team in Southhampton.

If United can string together back-to-back wins it creates confidence that simply hasn’t been in the team for the past ten years or so.

Italy

Roma @ Juventus 10:30 a.m. Saturday, August 27

When the title race materializes in December these are two teams that expect to be in contention. Juve are coming off a scoreless draw to Sampdoria and Roma comes in off a performance, not to the standards of manager Jose Mourinho.

Roma must find a way to score more goals if they are to play up to expectations. This is a huge game in Europe and in Italy, who prevails could determine who controls the tide in Italy.

However, the answer to that question may already be known, our next game…

Napoli @ Fiorentina 12:45 p.m. MT Sunday August 28

Victor Osimhen may be one of the most under-the-radar strikers in Italy as things are currently situated. Napoli look like a true threat in Italy. Things could become dicey for the teams listed above in Napoli continues this winning streak early in the season.

Germany Viewing Guide

Bayer Leverkusen @ Mainz 7:30 a.m. MT Saturday August 27

Uh oh, the perennial top four contenders in Germany Leverkusen, find themselves in a relegation spot. Things have not looked positive for Leverkusen early and they run into a Mainz team with two wins to its name already.

It’s early but Leverkusen needs to take this victory if they hope to have a hot at chasing one of the top five spots in Germany for European competition.

Borussia MuchenGladbach @ Bayern Munich 10:30 a.m. MT Saturday August 27

Hard not to have one of the most explosive teams on the continent on this viewing guide list every week. Bayern scored a touchdown last week and now face a newly reformed MuchenGladbach team who find themselves second in the table.

This is where we will find out, can there be a title race in Germany.

My gut instinct tells me no.

Spain

Worth keeping an eye on new look Barca this weekend as they play Valladolid at 11:30 a.m. MT Sunday August 28

The new look Barca scored four goals last weekend including new signing Robert Lewandoski, getting tuned up early for the Champions League must remain the goal of this Barca outfit.
